The thermostat display part has a shiny, scratch-free, clear lens screen and metal ring. The kit has been discounted due to having LIGHT, minor cosmetic blemishes on the small, bottom black strip and/or wiring base parts (due to store return, shipping and/or handling) which do not impact the functionality of the device.
